Abstract
Starenje je proces opadanja funkcija organizma, za razliku od starosti koju definiramo kao posljednju fazu života. Kvaliteta života osoba treće životne dobi u velikoj je mjeri određena faktorima kao što su: financije, zdravlje, socijalni kontakti, aktivnosti i opće zadovoljstvo životom. Provedeno je istraživanje s ciljem ispitivanja kvalitete života osoba treće životne dobi u gradu Rijeci koje žive u domu za starije osobe i oni koji žive u vlastitim domovima. Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali visoku kvalitetu života osoba treće dobi na svim ispitanima varijablama, s posebnim naglaskom na socijaliziranost ispitanika. Između općih sociodemografskih podataka (spola, dobi, stupnja obrazovanja, mjesta stanovanja, suživota, bračnog statusa, obiteljskog statusa) i ispitanih pokazatelja kvalitete života nema statistički značajne razlike.
Abstract (english)
The aging is a process of drop functions of the organism, in contrast to the age which we define as the last stage of life. The quality of life of the elderly is largely determined by factors such as: finance , health , social contacts , activities and general life satisfaction. This research was carried out with the aim of testing the quality of life of the elderly in the city of Rijeka living in a home for the elderly and those living in their own homes. The results showed a high quality of life of elderly people in all tested variables, with special emphasis on the sociability of respondents. Among the general socio-demographic data (gender, age, education level, place of residence, cohabitation, marital status, family status) and surveyed indicators of quality of life does not exist statistically significant difference.
