Rad problematizira odnos tijela i boli te traume u romanima Kao da me nema Slavenke Drakulić i Ljubljena Toni Morrison. Autorice kroz istinite priče, čije su vjerodostojnosti također analizirane u radu, prikazuju traumu ženskih likova tijekom ropstva i rata. Trauma se odnosi na česta silovanja, prisilne seksualne radnje, fizička zlostavljanja, bičevanja itd.
