Abstract
Rad primarno govori o romanu H. G. Wellsa Nevidljivi čovjek. Kako roman leži na razmeđi znanstvene fantastike i utopijske misli, u radu se govori o teoriji utopije i znanstvene fantastike. Spominju se pojam i definicija utopije te njeni dosezi kroz povijest, zatim žanr SF-a; njegova definicija, razgraničenja i sama poetika. U radu se pristupa kraćoj analizi romana općenito, da bi se kasnije analizirali elementi znanstvene fantastike i utopije prema teoretskim postavkama. Rad postavlja u pitanje i društvenu funkciju tijela, nevidljivosti i problem drugosti. Na samome kraju u kontekstu Nevidljivog čovjeka i ostalih Wellsovih romana progovara o Wellsu na velikome platnu – ekranizacijama Wellsovih romana.
Abstract (english)
This paper primarily speaks about The Invisible Man, a novel by H. G. Wells. As the novel lies at the crossroads of science fiction and utopian thoughts, the paper deals with theory of utopia and science fiction genre. The paper mentions the term and the definition of utopia and its realization throughout history, then the genre of SF; its definition, delimitation and poetry itself. The paper starts with a brief analysis of the novel, to later analyze the elements of science fiction and utopia according to theoretical premise. In addition, another aspect of this paper is questioning the social element of the body, invisibility and the problem of otherness. At the very end, it examines film adaptations of Wells’ novels including The Invisible Man.
