Abstract
Ovim se radom žele prikazati osnovni pojmovi Hobbesove političke filozofije, koji su relevantni prilikom određenja uzroka sukoba u njegovom kapitalnom djelu Levijatan (1651). Pitanje uzroka sukoba u prirodnom stanju čini se dosta kompleksno. Odgovor na to pitanje potražit ću u ulozi prirodnih zakona unutar Hobbesove političke flozofije. Cilj rada je argumentirati u prilog tumačenju Hobbesovih prirodnih zakona u okviru teorije prirodnog prava. U prvom dijelu teksta prikazati ću osnovne postavke Hobbesovog filozofskog sustava i u unutar toga ispitat ću status autonomije političke filozofije. Kako bih prikazao neke od elemenata sistematskog pristupa Hobbesu, izložiti ću rad teoretičarke igara Jean Hampton. Autorica definira pojedinca u prirodnom stanju kao egoističan biološki mehanizam, što je posljedica Hobbesovih psiholoških premisa. Argumentirati ću kako stanovnik prirodnog stanja nije čisto prudencijalno biće, već moralni djelatnik kojeg obvezuje prirodni zakon. Cilj rada je odrediti Hobbesove prirodne zakone kao moralne zakone. Tumačenjem Hobbesa u okviru teorije prirodnog prava, definirat ću racionalno djelovanje kao takvo koje je u skladu s prirodnim zakonom. Posljedica navedene interpretacije jest teza da razum nikada ne može generirati sukob u prirodnom stanju. Tvrdnja se osniva na temeljnom prirodnom zakonu: „teži za mirom“, kojeg Hobbes definira kao opće pravilo razuma.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of this paper is to explain key features of Hobbes political philosophy which are relevant for determing the causes of conflict in his masterpiece Leviathan (1651). It is not easy to define cause of quarrel in state of nature. In matter of that question I will regard the status of laws of nature within Hobbes political philosophy. The aim is to interpret Hobbes political thinking within natural law tradition. The first part of this paper deals with brief overview of Hobbes philosophical sistem, and imposes a question of autonomy of his political philisophy. To demonstrate elements of sistematic approach, I will review the work of game theory philosopher Jean Hampton. She arguments that state of nature citizen is an egoistic biological mechanism, as a consequence of Hobbes psihological premises. I will argument that state of nature citizen is not mere prudential being, but moral agent who is obligated by law of nature. The aim of this paper is to define Hobbes laws of nature as moral laws. Interpretating Hobbes work within natural law tradition I will define rational agency as action in accordance to laws of nature. Conclusion is that reason can not generate conflict in state of nature. This asumption is based on law of nature „seek for peace“, which Hobbes defines as general law of reason.
