Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to explore the satirical apparatus of Thomas More and Erasmus of Rotterdam expressed in their works respectively. In Utopiaand In Praise of Folly, authors offer their unique views on the problematic situations of that epoch, primarily focusing on the politics, religion and society. Since the two authors lived in the same time period and maintained a close professional rapport, the topics discussed in the work will be congruent.Their approaches to the same issues through satire will primarily be focus of the thesis. There will also be contextualization of the period to which More and Erasmus pertained so that the satirical references of the given pieces will be foregrounded.
