Abstract
U kontekstu epohe postmodernizma, roman tematizira postmodernističke značajke relevantne za historigrafsku metafikciju, roman Ženska francuskog poručnika. John Fowles u romanu vraća čitatelje u 19. stoljeće i vjerno prikazuje društvo viktorijanskog razdoblja te samim time tematizira saznanje o prošlosti i prošlim događajima iz suvremene perspektive. Primarni cilj rada je razraditi i objasniti inovativne tehnike koje John Fowles koristi u romanu, koje ujedno potvrđuju da se radi o žanru historiografske metafikcije odnosno o postmodernom povijesnom romanu.
