Abstract
Od svog nastanka 1827. godine pa sve do danas, fotografiju upotrebljavamo prije svega kao izražajni i komunikacijski medij. S milijardama kadrova što se stvaraju iz sekunde u sekundu, kako pomoću fotoaparata, tako i pomoću mobitela, ona je postala neizostavni dio naše svakodnevice. Godinama je nastojala pronaći svoje mjesto u tradicionalnom umjetničkom sustavu. Kroz ovaj rad teži se opisati razvoj fotografije u priznati umjetnički medij, njezin bijeg od istoga u godinama modernizma te razvitak tržišta koje danas, u 21. stoljeću, poprima novi, do sada neviđeni napredak otvarajući mnogobrojne mogućnosti fotografima da od svoje umjetnosti žive u pravom smislu riječi.
